CarStream Issues & Fixes

Here are the most common issues and fixes faced by the CarStream users while playing YouTobe on Android Auto.

1. CarStream Android Auto App Crashing Issue 

Restart your app 

First of all, try restarting CarStream app. Close all the apps including car stream app. Commonly, CarStream Android app crashes and a simple app closing and restarting can resolve the minor crashing issues in the app to watch Android Auto YouTube. 

Restart your Android device

Simply try restarting your Android device to overcome CarStream app crashing error. 

Check for compatibility 

Sometimes, you might be using an older version of Android that does not support the Android Auto CarStream app. Therefore, make sure to check your device model, Android version, and CarStream apk version when you feel like errors in your Android Auto.  

Check for the updates

2. Old Text messages not showing while using CarStream Android Auto?  

While using CarStream you can only read the text messages that are received after you connect to CarStream with Android Auto. It’s because CarStream only supports YouTube streaming on Android Auto. If you want to read messages and use your mobile phone while driving, you can use a mirroring app to do that. 

3. CarStream App is getting stuck, not working and frozen head unit error

Recommended to simply uninstall the app and reinstall it. Sometimes clearing app cache can fix the error too.

4. Car stream not showing in Android Auto after Android 13 Update

If you are having this issue, please follow the following step-by-step guide. Make sure that you go through all the steps correctly to fix this issue.

  • Go into your Android apps and find Android Auto
  • Clear cache for Android Auto
  • Reboot phone.
  • Carstream should be in Android Auto again.

If the above method is not working on your latest Android, try the next method below.

  • Go to settings.
  • Connected devices.
  • Find Android auto.
  • On the Android Auto screen just scroll down to the bottom where the About section is shown.
  • Click on "Version & Permissions" 10 times to enable Android Auto developer settings.
  • Then go to the top right and click on 3 dots.
  • Click on "Developer settings"
  • Scroll down to “Unknown settings’’.
  • Put a checkmark on the setting and restart your Android device.

5. Google pixel 7/ Pixel 7 pro Android 13 CarSteam not woking issue

6. CarStream showing “No new messages during this drive", installed with AAAD. 

 

Users who align with the Android Auto CarStream app have reported the issue, showing a black screen with an error message, saying " No new Messages during this drive". This issue has arisen after updating Android 14.

 Related phone models reported having the " No new Messages during this drive" error in Android Auto CarStream :

  • Samsung S23 Ultra
  • Pixel 7 Pro
  • OnePlus 9 Pro 5G
  • Galaxy Fold 4

No solution found so far exactly.

However, you can try it with an AA wireless dongle, turned on developer mode. Works for Android 14 CarStream app. 

7.CarStream not working in the background with Maps.  

You can not play CarStream while another app is running in the background. 

8. CarStream not working on Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Android 14. 

 

CarStream currently not working in Android 14. We’ll have to wait until something new comes in. But if you have an AA wireless dongle, you can try it with the developer mode on with CarStream.  

09.CarStream app not working with Netflix on Android Auto

CarStream app only supports playing YouTube on Android Auto. CarStream Netflix is not supported yet. Therefore you can try another method to watch Netflix on Android Auto.
